Code Editor (IDE)
Workspace includes a full code editor powered by Monaco — the same engine as VS Code.
How to open
- Click a file in the file tree.
- From the project search (Ctrl+Shift+F): clicking a match opens the file at that line.
- From the build log: clicking an error opens the file at the error line.
- Go to Definition from code — the target opens in the editor.
Editor window
The editor opens in a large window on top of Workspace: the file path, the «● Unsaved changes» indicator, Save and Close (Esc) buttons.
Features
- Syntax highlighting: C++ (
.h/.hpp/.c/.cpp/.inl…), C#, JSON (.uproject/.uplugin), INI (.ini/.cfg), Markdown, XML/HTML, YAML. - Autocompletion based on the symbol index of the whole project — works offline, no clangd/LSP required.
- Go to Definition for C++ and C# — jump to a function/class declaration in another project file.
- Build markers — errors and warnings from the latest UBT log are highlighted right in the code.
- Minimap and line numbers.
- Word wrap toggle button.
Hotkeys
- Ctrl+S — save the file.
- Tab — indentation.
- Esc — close the editor (unless a Monaco widget like find/suggest is open).
- Closing with unsaved changes asks: «Save and close» or «Close without saving».
If Monaco fails to load (e.g. a broken installation), the editor automatically falls back to a simplified version with the same buttons.
